Holiday park death crash witness found

A VAN driver who police believed may have witnessed a fatal collision at a Lothian caravan park which killed a six-year-old boy has been traced.

Liam McDonald was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa near the entrance to Seton Sands Holiday Village at around 1.30pm on July 19 and died at the scene.

The boy, from Glasgow, was staying at the caravan park with his family.

Police launched an appeal to speak to the driver of a white van who may have witnessed the accident as they drove from Port Seton to Longniddry.

The driver has since been traced via CCTV and assisted police with their inquiries.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who believes they have information and has still not come forward is asked to contact police immediately."
