Hired hawk keeps greedy Peterhead gulls in check
RESIDENTS of a coastal town have hired a hawk to protect them from the “menace” of greedy gulls dive-bombing their sandwiches.
A falconer and a Harris Hawk are to be stationed in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, in a bid to counter the attacks.
Meanwhile residents of a Moray community are demanding the authorities take action following a spate of attacks by seagulls.
Clarky Mitchell, 39, said his six-month-old baby was targeted as his family enjoyed lunch in the open air in Elgin’s Cooper Park. His post on social media prompted 300 responses.
