Hills inspire artists for competition

THE Pentland Hills are to be used as the inspiration of a new art competition.

An art and photography competition has been launched in order to encourage visitors to the Pentland Hills Regional Park.

They are to be encouraged to capture the natural beauty of the area as either a painting, drawing or photograph.

The Pentland Hills have been a source of inspiration for many people over the centuries, including Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson.

A previous competition in 2008 led to 21 paintings and 141 photographs being entered.
