Hiker killed by mountain goat

Rangers in Washington state have said they suspect an encounter with a mountain goat killed a 63-year-old hiker in Olympic National Park.

The park service said Robert Boardman was hurt on Saturday as he hiked near the park's Klahhane Ridge and died hours later at hospital in Port Angeles.

Officials did not provide any specifics on the man's injuries and later tracked down and killed the animal.
