High visitor count at show

ALMOST 183,000 visitors attended the 2011 Royal Highland Show - the event's second-highest ever attendance.

The exact figure after the four-day run was 182,984, and show manager David Dunsmuir said: "We are delighted with the figures considering there were so many other events over the weekend.

"We had many first-time visitors attracted by the variety of features on offer."

The highest ever attendance - 187,644 - was achieved last year.
