High fives as pitches backed

A FORMER paint roller factory is set to be transformed into a new five-a-side football centre after the plans were given the green light by council chiefs.

Kick About Arenas put forward proposals to turn the disused factory at the Mayfield Industrial Estate in Mayfield, Dalkeith, into the centre.

Concerns had been raised that the football centre would reduce the "employment capacity" at the industrial estate. Council chiefs, however, backed the plans.
