High blood pressure risk

THOUSANDS of people in the Lothians could be unwittingly putting their lives at risk because of high blood pressure, it has been warned.

A new survey shows that up to a third of those aged between 16 and 34 had a high reading, with men more likely to have high blood pressure than women.

Clinical pharmacist and heart health expert Shafeeque Mohammed said: "It is something that most people don't think they need to worry about until later in life."
