Hibby chart campaign set for kick-off

THE campaign to get a popular Proclaimers song into the UK charts will officially launch today.

Hibs fans are hoping to secure a place in the top 40 for the club's unofficial anthem, Sunshine on Leith.

They want fans to download the song at any point this week in the hope of matching a similar project by Rangers fans to get Tina Turner's The Best into the charts.

It is thought about 5,000 sales would be enough to propel the song into the list of the country's most popular songs this week.

The drive has been backed by the band and it is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Hands Off Hibs campaign.
