He's simply the best ... Janitor is school's champion

George Paraskevakis, the janitor at St Peter's RC Primary School, was given a hero's welcome by pupils and headteacher Therese Laing after winning the coveted Best Of... School Champion Evening News award.

Mr Paraskevakis, 64, was nominated after being praised by First Minister Alex Salmond for his tireless efforts to keep the school open during the winter. The janitor trudged 55 minutes through heavy snow every day to make sure the school stayed open.
