Heroin worth £30k recovered by police in Inverness

POLICE have recovered heroin with a street value of £30,000 in the Inverness area.

The drugs were seized in an operation involving officers from the newly formed Organised Crime and Counter Terrorist Unit , the Specialist Crime Division and the Highland and Islands Division of Police Scotland.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Two men aged 28 and 34 will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to the drugs and a third man aged 25 will be reported in relation to possession of a knife.”

Detective Inspector Andy Logan from the OCCT said: “It is a high priority to disrupt the supply of drugs into communities. Anyone bringing drugs into the Highlands and Islands can expect to be appropriately dealt with by police as they cause misery throughout the community.”
