Heralding in a bigger, better weekly paper

THE familiar Herald & Post, Edinburgh's free, home-delivered weekly produced by the publishers of the Evening News, will pop through letterboxes for the last time this week.

From next week, an all-new H&P will replace it, with an emphasis on shopping, consumerism and community events.

Editor Helen Martin said: "Nothing can beat the Evening News for news, features and all-round coverage of the city. The new Herald & Post is very much the 'little sister' and will concentrate on shopping, city offers and value for money.

"There are also platforms for community events, especially very local items that used to be the backbone of local weeklies. News of bring and buy sales, school fetes, new shop openings, long-service awards, charity cheque presentations and wedding pictures are all welcome and I hope these will build up to become regular features of the paper."
