Help victims by dining and donating

RESIDENTS across Edinburgh and the Lothians are being urged to dine and donate as part of a charity fundraiser.

Victim Support Scotland has launched Dine&Donate – a new national fundraising drive which aims to raise funds to set up an online resource and support service for youngsters affected by crime.

Dine&Donate encourages individuals or groups across the country to host an event such as a dinner party, barbecue or picnic, and in return for a feast, friends and family are asked to make a donation.

The campaign was launched by the charity, which has its national headquarters in the Capital, following a recent crime and justice survey which found that one in five Scots is a victim of crime.

Fundraising campaign manager for Dine&Donate, Maureen McKellar, said: "With so many Scots affected by crime each year, it can often be difficult for the victims to move on with their lives without any form of support.

"The charity, and the Dine&Donate campaign in particular, want to change that by providing a support service for those affected."
