Help go green by restyling your woollies

City fashionistas will get the chance to restyle their winter woollies next week in a free fashion workshop aimed at boosting climate change awareness.

As part of their 'Turn up the style, turn down the heat' campaign, green group Global Cool is urging people to revamp their woolly jumpers and use less energy heating their homes.

The campaign was launched at Britain's Next Top Model Live in October, when green-minded fashion fans customised 181 jumpers in three days.

Naomi Segal, campaign director at Global Cool, said: "We want people to see how simple it is to reduce their carbon footprint and live a stylish, green lifestyle. Activity like this is crucial to bringing about long-term changes in behaviour for a lower-carbon society."

Portobello-based art group Alchemy Arts will host the event at the Festival Theatre, where Godiva Boutique will be providing jumpers for 5 for those who do not bring their own. The event will take place next Wednesday between 7pm and 10pm.
