He was last seen in an area between Strichen and the A98 Fraserburgh to Banff road and no-one has heard from him since.

Extensive searches have been carried out over the past few days with specialist officers drafted in to assist with the investigation.

Dog units were called in along with mountain rescue teams and yesterday marine divers joined the search with the police helicopter.

Inspector Alan Brown of the Community Policing Team based in Fraserburgh said police were growing increasingly concerned for the young man.

He said: “We have carried out extensive searches today to find Shaun and I would urge anyone with information or who may have seen Shaun to contact us.

“Shaun was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning and we are now becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing. We would ask that anyone who has any piece of information in relation to Shaun’s whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101.”

When Shaun was last seen, he was wearing dark grey skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, a grey hoodie and brown trainers.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.
