Hearts retail boss moves to new post

THE boss of retail operations at Hearts has joined the board of a Lothians firm that sells pet food, gardening products and hardware.

Stephen McMenemy has left his position of head of retail at the Tynecastle club to become head of sales at Dalkeith-based Millers Town & Country.

The firm has three shops in Dalkeith, Peebles and Hawick.

Mr McMenemy said: "Having been in the position of head of retail at Heart of Midlothian FC, one of Scotland's oldest and best-loved football clubs, the decision to leave and take up my new role with Millers was not an easy one.

"That said, the opportunity to become sales manager and at the same time take up a place on the board at Millers was exactly the type of opportunity I was looking for.

"I am proud of the job I did at Hearts but the time was right to take up a new challenge. There is so much going on at Millers at the moment in terms of business development I have barely been able to catch my breath."
