Hearts legends pitch in for Sashita

Hearts legends will take to the pitch tomorrow to help raise money for the residents of a small village in Tanzania.

The Heart of Midlothian FC Legends team, which includes Jimmy Sandison, Henry Smith, Alan Lawrence and Gary Mackay, will play against a group representing the charity Sashita.

Half the money raised will go towards the work of the Edinburgh-based charity to improve living standards in the village, which is in the remote rural area of Samuye. The other half will go to The Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust.

Sashita was set up in 2008 and aims to build a well in the village, establish a micro-loan programme, pay school fees and recruit literacy volunteers.

Kick-off is at 4.15pm at Spartans Community Ground. Online donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/Grant-Finlayson0 .
