Hearts fan helps net £1,500 for veterans charity

A LIFELONG Hearts supporter has gone the extra mile for the country's veterans.

John Cole, 43, who works for the North British Distillery Company, completed the 10k Great Edinburgh Run earlier this month in aid of his favourite team's charity partner – Erskine. Along with three friends, Colin Robertson, David Aitchison and Laurence Mutch, the season ticket holder completed the course in 58 minutes and three seconds. He raised 784 and his employers matched his donation, bringing the total to 1,568.
