Hearts director says Tynecastle stand rebuilding plan under review

HEARTS director Sergejus Fedotovas has revealed the rebuilding of Tynecastle's main stand is under review, with the club now intent on building a straightforward stand without additional commercial development to begin with.

The Hearts board had applied to Edinburgh City Council for detailed planning permission for an elaborate 51 million project incorprating commercial office space and leisure facilities, such as a hotel and bars. However, Fedotovas said the club are examining how to alter their plans.

"We are re-addressing the situation and changing the shape of the proposal given the current economic climate," he said. "We are looking at a new stand without the additional commercial development on site (in the first phase].

"We are doing the initial calculations and we believe the new proposal can work. We are working on the business model now, and we hope to announce the shape of this towards the time of the AGM, or thereabouts."

Hearts' AGM is due to take place in late March or early April.
