A DRUG to help people with bad cholesterol has been approved by the Scottish Medicines Consortium.

The Tredaptive medicine – used when other primary treatments fail – will now be available on the NHS across the Lothians. It is hoped its use will help lower instances of heart disease, and also aid people in high risk groups such as ethnic minorities.
