Healthcare to go web-wide

A TRIAL allowing patients to update their own medical records online could be extended to the Lothians.

The experiment would see people able to carry out a number of tasks online, including requesting appointments and repeat prescriptions, and accessing text results.

Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "We want to use technology wherever we can to make our healthcare more efficient and more secure – what's known as eHealth."
