Hawke & Hunter seek extra territory

AN AWARD-winning style bar, restaurant and boutique four-bedroom hotel run by a former Scotland rugby international is set to be expanded.

Hawke & Hunter, which opened in the previous home of the Hallion and Home House private members clubs on Picardy Place in 2008, will expand into the building next door under new plans unveiled today.

The venue, run by former Scotland rugby international Simon Taylor and his business partner Barrie Brown, is to add another nine bedrooms in a move that will see its hotel operation more than triple in size.

The expansion will come from a redevelopment of neighbouring flats at 14b Picardy Place.

Hotel bosses say part of the reason for the expansion is that the four rooms have had constantly strong bookings, but it is proving "unviable" to continue to run such a small number of bedrooms.
