Have your wits about you for charity dinner

SOME of the wittiest Scots in the country are set to compete in Edinburgh's ultimate battle of wits.

This year's Wits Dinner will mark the 30th anniversary of the event, which will be held at Prestonfield House on 22 April in aid of St Columba's Hospice.

The MC of the dinner will be broadcaster Kaye Adams.

The participants, who will battle it out for the title of Wittiest Wit of the Wits 2010, are public speakers Rod McCowan, Jim Robertson and Eric Davidson.

Guests will be treated to food and wine, before the three Wits take to the stage.

Mairi Rosko, senior fundraising manager at St Columba's Hospice, said: "We are delighted to welcome Kaye Adams and our three Wits, and are eagerly awaiting the evening they have in store."

Tickets cost 75, which includes a drinks reception and food.
