Have your say on affordable city housing in online survey

AN ONLINE survey has been launched to provide more details about Edinburgh's need for affordable housing.

The survey asks residents questions about issues including whether people would consider renting if the rent could be used as part of a deposit to buy a house at a later stage. It also asks if people are interested in shared equity schemes, and what sorts of homes people are looking for and where.

The results from the survey, which runs until the end of this month, will help shape the council's future housing policy.

Councillor Paul Edie, the city's housing leader, said: "This is the first time we have carried out such an online survey, which we hope will give us a clearer picture of the affordable housing scene in the city.

"By taking part in the survey people will ensure future strategies take their needs into account."

Entrants to the online survey, at http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/674/consultations/1286/affordable_housing_survey, will also be entered into a prize draw for 30 worth of shopping vouchers.
