Have a Wii warm-up before you play

OSTEOPATHS have reported a 72 per cent rise in the number of people suffering strain injuries due to overuse of their Wii or iPhone.

The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) said its London clinic had seen far more patients in the past week than in the run-up to Christmas. Its experts are warning consumers to warm up when using the hand-held gadgets and say anyone suffering strain should not over-exert themselves if playing games such as tennis.

Neck pain and headaches can be caused by prolonged periods on the phone, particularly when playing games or using apps.

The BCOM declined to give the exact number of patients seen due to concerns about confidentiality.
