Hastings flies the flag for pipe festival

Former Scottish rugby captain Gavin Hastings joined Archie Orr, three at Edinburgh Castle yesterday to launch Pipefest 2010.

Hastings will lead thousands of pipers and drummers from 27 countries along the Royal Mile at the event, on August 7, which is aiming to raise more than 100,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. He said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to support Marie Curie Cancer Care and thousands of players as they march."
