Handbag grab attack fails

A WOMAN was pushed to the ground by a mugger who tried to grab her handbag as she walked to a bus stop.

The 54-year-old woman was walking on South Gyle Broadway at 8am yesterday when someone approached her from behind at the junction with Gogarloch Road and pushed her over.

She was aware of a person trying to grab her bag, but they were unsuccessful and ran off.

A police spokesman said: "Fortunately the woman was not seriously injured in the incident."
