Hairdresser sentenced for glass attack in club

A HAIRDRESSER hit a woman in the face with a glass and left her permanently scarred after an argument on the dance floor of an Edinburgh nightclub.

The victim, 20-year old Lisa Golder, was left requiring eight stitches.

At the city's Sheriff Court yesterday, 17-year-old Ashleigh Drysdale of Parkhead Loan, was ordered to perform 80 hours of community service and to pay 500 compensation.

Drysdale had previously admitted assaulting Ms Golder at the Stereo Nightclub on January 31 this year.

The attack came after Ms Golder bumped into a friend of Drysdale on the dance floor. Drysdale took exception to this and an argument ensued.

Drysdale then deliberately threw the contents of a glass she was holding on to Ms Golder's face, but the glass struck her, causing the injury.
