Haggis sales hotting up

A HUGE rise in haggis sales in Edinburgh has been attributed to the increasingly cold weather.

Supermarket bosses said sales soared by 168 per cent since the weather turned.

Barry Low, manager of Sainsbury's branches in Edinburgh, said: "With winter approaching, our customers here have been looking for something to warm their cockles as the temperature drops.

"Customers have been reaching for all five varieties of our haggis over the last couple of weeks and we've really seen a huge increase in demand."
