Gun salute for Queen's 85th

GUNNERS will fire a 21-gun salute at Edinburgh Castle tomorrow at noon to celebrate the Queen's 85th birthday.

Troops from the 207 Battery, 105 Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers) will lead the salute.

The reviewing officer will be Glenn Allison, vice-chairman of CBI Scotland.

Commanding officer of 105 Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Huthwaite said: "As ever, the troops conducting the royal salutes have trained hard and are keen to ensure that all runs smoothly.

"I am sure the day will prove to be a fitting tribute to Her Majesty, and an equally impressive spectacle for those watching."
