Gulf veteran gets tagged

A GULF War veteran who was more than four times over the legal blood alcohol limit for driving has been electronically tagged to stop him going out in the evening to buy booze.

David Thompson, 45, was yesterday ordered to stay in his home from 5:30pm until 3am for 120 days as part of his punishment for drink-driving.

He was also put on probation for nine months with a special condition that he attends alcohol counselling, banned from driving for three years and ordered to take a drink driving rehabilitation course.
