Guantanamo Bay prisoner to speak at film night

A FORMER prisoner of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp is to speak at an event on 24 March.

Omar Deghayes will join a discussion after a screening of the documentary Outside the Law – Stories from Guantnamo at Augustine United Church on George IV Bridge at 7:30pm. He will be joined by the film's co-director, Andy Worthington.

The film focuses on three prisoners – Mr Deghayes, who was released in 2007, Binyam Mohamed, who was released last year, and Shaker Aamer, who is still imprisoned at the camp.
