Groups can bank on RBS Force funds

COMMUNITIES across Edinburgh and the Lothians are set to benefit from a new fund being launched by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

RBS is launching Community Force, a new initiative to help support local charities, organisations and groups to raise publicity for their work and attract volunteers.

The programme also provides the opportunity to receive funding through the bank's Community Force awards.

A total of 72,000 will be invested in communities across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with 12 separate projects in line to receive an award.

Regional director for RBS, Denise Alexander, said: "RBS has a long and proud history of supporting communities in Edinburgh and I'm delighted to launch Community Force locally. Giving the community the chance to vote for the award winners will ensure these funds go to the organisations local people value the most.

"Community Force is part of our ongoing commitment to support the communities where we live and work."

Organisations and charities can apply at www.rbs.com/community until September 4.
