Group tells PM of fears

MUIRHOUSE Women's Group has written an open letter to Prime Minister David Cameron highlighting its concern over welfare reforms.

In particular, the community group criticised new proposals aimed at making unemployed people carry out unpaid work.

It reads: "We feel that the proposals are unfair and that they discriminate against parents who are unable to work due to the lack of suitable child care and the lack of jobs. Being a parent is already a full-time job."
