Grisly discovery for dog walker as body is washed up on beach

A BODY was found washed up on a beach in Broughty Ferry yesterday.

Police said the corpse, that of a man, was found at about 7:40am by a dog walker. It is understood the body was found in the close to Broughty Ferry's lifeboat station.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the identity of the deceased was not yet known. She said: "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"Officers are in the process of identifying the man and informing next of kin."

The spokeswoman said a report would be sent to the procurator-fiscal, as with all such deaths.
