Greyhound breeder faces drug sentence

A GREYHOUND breeder was today behind bars after cannabis was found growing in disused kennels at his remote farm.

A raid on Alexander Cameron's West Cairns Farm, in Kirknewton, West Lothian, found cuttings and mature plants which might have yielded a crop worth 78,000 on the streets.

Cameron, 62, claimed he knew nothing of what was going on in the building because he had rented it out and had no need to go there.

A jury at the High Court in Edinburgh found him guilty of producing cannabis between February and July last year, of being concerned in the supply of the drug, and of stealing electricity.

Cameron, who ran a double glazing firm until he retired for health reasons, was remanded in custody, pending sentence after background reports.
