Greenhouse gas help call

Council chiefs have called on the Scottish Government to provide more detail on how to tackle climate change.

The council has submitted views on the policies and proposals part of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009, currently before the Scottish Parliament for consideration. It sets targets of reducing greenhouse gases by 42 per cent by 2020 and 80 per cent by 2050.

Jim Inch, the council's director of corporate services, said he welcomed the report.
