Green travel's £10m boost

TRANSPORT bosses have welcomed the announcement of £10 million funding to develop low-emission and electric vehicles.

Regional transport body SEStran said the Scottish Government money would be spent on a green bus fund to encourage construction of low-emission vehicles and the development of transport by electric car.

SEStran chairman Russell Imrie said: "Any new money for green transportation is a welcome boost. SEStran exists to create a sustainable transportation system for south-east Scotland. The region's economic future depends upon it."
