Green drugs bags success

A NEW system to help patients transport medicines throughout hospitals is to begin in the Lothians.

The green bag initiative, which sees patients issued with a medicine bag before being admitted to hospital, was ­introduced at the Royal ­Infirmary in September.

The scheme is to be extended to other sites after it was shown to increase numbers of patients taking their own medicine in to the hospital and help the ­process of transferring ­medication between wards.
