Green advice centre to open its doors

A NEW advice shop in Craigmillar will open its doors this Saturday with an open day for the family.

The business is designed to help the environment by providing a range of advice and activities on energy saving, waste reduction, food growing and environmentally friendly transport.

Locals can drop in and ask the team of staff and volunteers for free advice or book free home visits for information on money saving tips.

The project kicks off with an open day on Saturday from noon until 4pm at the Green House, on Niddrie Mains Road. Visitors can enjoy free tea and cake all day, and the first 100 people to complete a 10-minute survey will receive a free energy saving gadget to take home.

There will be story-telling and craft activities for kids of all ages at the White House next door. The project is run by the Community Alliance Trust, a development trust based in Craigmillar.
