Grassmarket traders to get a say on improvements

Traders in the Grassmarket are being given their say about how a new scheme to improve the area will work.

Plans are being drawn up for a new “business improvement district” (BID) in the Grassmarket area.

Questionnaires have been sent out to more than 300 business owners asking for their views on what should be part of the scheme.

Linda McIntosh, project manager for the Greater Grassmarket BID, said: “BIDs are all about businesses having a greater say and making collective changes which will benefit not only the businesses but also their staff and customers, as well as people living in the area.

“I’m asking businesses in the Grassmarket area to take just a few minutes out of their busy day to complete the questionnaire because this is their chance to have their say and to help shape the area’s future.”
