Grant will save cottage

A LISTED building will be restored thanks to a new grant.

Dalkeith Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) has awarded a grant to Queensberry Properties for the restoration of the property at 1-3 Musselburgh Road, Dalkeith, at the entrance to Dalkeith Country Park.

The cottage dates from the late 18th century, and forms part of the development being carried out by Queensberry Properties and Cruden Homes.

A grant has been awarded to restore the cottage, repairing and rebuilding the stone walls with new sash and case timber windows and new stone surroundings to the window openings to match the original.
