Grampian Police seize £100k of heroin and cocaine in Aberdeen operations

GRAMPIAN Police have seized around £100,000 of cocaine and heroin in two separate operations in Aberdeen carried out by the force’s major investigation team.

The drugs were recovered following an intelligence led operation in the Airyhall and Mastrick areas of the city yesterday and at Aberdeen railway station.

A spokesman for the force said today: “Grampian Police have arrested four local men, aged 50, 22, 19 and 17 years, in connection with the seizure of around £90,000-worth of heroin. A four figure sum of cash was also recovered. The four are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today. “

He continued: “Officers also recovered dealer quantities of heroin and crack cocaine following a search of a 20 year-old man at Aberdeen Railway Station yesterday. The man, who is from the Manchester area of England, will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.”

Detective Inspector Kevin Walker, who led the operation, said: “Grampian Police are committed to tackling serious and organised crime which has an impact on our communities. These two significant seizure are further examples of this and we will continue to make the Grampian Police area as hostile an environment as possible for those involved in the sale or supply of controlled drugs.”
