Google X Phone: Leaked specifications and a new OS
The phone, the first to produced after Google’s purchase of Motorola’s phone business, is Google’s latest attempt to build its Android operating system’s reach at the top-end of the smartphone market.
The X Phone will reportedly run on the latest version of the operating system, believed to be called Key Lime Pie.

Google CEO Larry Page’s declaration during a shareholders’ conference call that “when you drop your phone it shouldn’t go splat” has been interpreted by some as hinting at a new covering or material for the X Phone.
Reported dimensions for the device suggest a slightly larger device than the iPhone 5, albeit only a third of a millimetre thicker.
Rumours are rife that the handset will be unveiled at Google’s annual ‘I/O’ conference for software developers in mid-May.
