Google Maps: Ride Loch Ness Monster for shortcut

GOOGLE Maps has discovered the fastest way to cross Scotland’s most famous stretch of water – on the back of a mythical monster.

Because car journeys are neither fast enough nor all that exciting, the mapping service has devised an alternate path especially for Nessie lovers.

The route is, of course, not real – it’s one of several ‘Easter eggs’ that Google Maps developers have hidden in the app.

Shame, because a 33-minute drive from Augustus to Urquhart Castle is much slower than the 22 minutes it would take to ride the Loch Ness Monster.
