JULIE Ashworth, from the New Town is preparing to set off on a trip to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the Friends of Stockbridge Primary school.

Ms Ashworth, whose sons Angus, nine, and Torrin, six, attend the school, hopes to raise at least £3000 to help combat education cuts.

She has been training on Arthur’s Seat and the Pentlands ahead of her departure on Sunday, January 29.
