Go-ahead for guest house

A FAMILY behind a string of homeless hostels in Edinburgh have been granted permission to open a guest house in the city centre – provided they provide £7,000 for the City Car Club.

The Cameron Guest House Group – run by the Akbar family –- wants to transform the office units at 34, 36 and 38 York Place into a guest house for up to 60 people.

However, consent will only be given if it pays to provide a car and parking space for the Edinburgh City Car Club.
