Glassing accused had cut on hand, court told

A MAN accused of attempted murder was treated in hospital for a cut hand the night his alleged victim had a glass smashed over his head, a court has heard.

Wayne Alexander was unable to explain the hospital visit to police after claiming under caution that he had stayed at home all day.

Alexander, 34, denies glassing Dave Hoggan and stabbing the 31-year-old in the arm and leg on May 25 last year.

Alexander’s co-accused, Nikita Thompson, 26, denies stabbing Bryan Simons, 40, and Kirsty Ogg, 28, in the same incident at Mr Hoggan’s flat near Haymarket Station, Edinburgh.

Both have also pleaded not guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin between February 2010 and May 2011.

The trial at Livingston continues.
