Glass row
man jailed
for 80 days

A DRUNK narrowly missed a baby when he hurled a pint glass during a bust-up at his mother’s wedding in an upmarket hotel.

Christopher Law, of Grove Street, Fountainbridge, was thrown out by other guests at the Barony Castle Hotel near Eddleston, Peeblesshire, on Saturday night after arguing with his new stepfather.

Staff had to hold the doors shut as the 22-year-old tried to force his way back into the hotel, Selkirk Sheriff Court heard.

Law’s solicitor said there had been long-standing animosity between his client and his mother’s partner.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond jailed Law, who has 16 separate convictions since February 2009, for 80 days.
