Glasgow woman robbed of four-figure sum of money

A woman has been left “distressed” after being robbed of a four-figure sum of money.

She was walking along Alexandra Parade at 1.55pm yesterday, near a William Hill bookmakers in Glasgow, when she was approached and threatened by two men, said police.

One of them claimed to have a gun but no weapon was seen.

They then stole the cash which was in a white polythene bag and ran off in the direction of Armadale Street.

The woman was not physically hurt but was left “very distressed”, police said.

Officer are reviewing CCTV footage, carrying out enquiries and have issued descriptions of the two suspects.

Both are white with a slim build and around 25-years-old.

One was wearing black trainers, black gloves and a grey tracksuit with the hood up while the other was wearing a navy blue tracksuit and pink gloves.

Detective Constable Gary Cassidy said: “This is a very busy area and there would have been a lot of people around at that time of the day.

“It’s possible these men were hanging around the area prior to, or following the crime, perhaps you noticed the man wearing pink gloves, if you saw anything suspicious, then please do get in touch with us, your information could be vital to our investigation.”
