Glasgow firm wins record–bid car deal

THE wheels of a car hoping to set a new 1,000mph land speed record are to be made by a Glasgow firm, it was announced yesterday.

Castle Precision Engineering has joined the team building the jet and rocket-powered Bloodhound SSC, which will attempt to become the world’s fastest on a South African desert racetrack in 2013 and 2014.
